At Robillard Hearing Centres, our solutions entail more than just the device itself. In some cases, your hearing can be greatly improved by practicing your listening skills and the filtering out of noise through training and therapy programs. Here are some of the programs we offer, with your quality of life in mind.
Tinnitus Retraining Therapy
Tinnitus is quite a common condition, afflicting up to 17% of the adult population to some degree. Robillard Hearing Centres was the first hearing centre in Eastern Ontario to feature the Jastreboff Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) program. The Jastreboff model of TRT results in significant improvement for more than 80% of patients treated.
LACE Listening Training Program
The Listening and Communication Enhancement (LACE) Listening Program is a home-based, self-paced adaptive auditory training program which is designed to improve listening and communication skills. It’s easy to use, even if you’re not familiar with computers. LACE teaches you to comprehend speech up to 40% better in difficult listening situations.
Auditory rehabilitation is part of a complete approach to address hearing loss, based on the principle that you can help yourself when it comes to difficulties encountered because of hearing loss. While hearing aids are part of the solution, the HEARa Aural Rehabilitation Program is designed to train the brain to process and filter the distinction between speech and noise. We stand alone in offering this complete approach in Eastern Canada.
The Robillard Kids Program offers the most advanced Oticon and Phonak hearing aids and ear molds for children of all ages at cost under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). With this program, parents receive 5 sets of new ear molds for just $500.
