Do I need a medical referral for a hearing test?

A doctor’s referral is not required for the assessment, and your audiologist or hearing instrument specialist will provide an explanation of your hearing ability during the same visit.

The benefit of a hearing test is that you will find out if your hearing will benefit from hearing aids – you can even get a demonstration of how hearing aids can improve your hearing in noisy environments.

There is zero obligation to purchase but we can provide you with a prescription for hearing aids for when you are ready and offer a 30 day trial should you decide to give them a try.

We invite you to bring a friend or family member to your appointment as they may provide additional details about your hearing capabilities in your daily activities and provide support.

How long does a hearing test take?

The hearing test will take about 30 minutes, and it’s painless! The consultation after the hearing test can last 45 mins — so just over an hour from start to finish. Most adults who get hearing tests are asked to wear earphones and listen to short tones that are played at different volumes and pitches into one ear at a time.

Can I order my hearing aid online?

We do not offer hearing aids online. The main reason for this is we need to run specialized tests to learn about your individual hearing loss so we can help you make an informed decision on what hearing aid and style will work best for you (and your budget).

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We have two financing options available

3-Month 0% Financing – If you prefer short-term, interest-free financing rather than one full payment upfront, make one payment at your hearing aid fitting appointment followed by three post-dated cheques payable before the 90-day satisfaction period is complete.

1 to 5 Year Low-Interest Financing –
Our 1 to 5 year low-interest financing is ideal for clients who need more than 3 months to pay for their hearing aids. Make one 10% deposit at your hearing aid fitting appointment, followed by a monthly, pre-authorized debit payment over the chosen term.

Is government funding available?

Yes. The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can help to pay for customized equipment like your hearing aids and frequency modulation (FM) systems if you have a long-term disability. The maximum grant amount is  $500  per hearing aid and up to a maximum of $1000 for two hearing aids.

Does my health insurance cover hearing tests? Hearing aids?

Hearing tests are free for Ontario residents. Check with your insurance provider to see if they provide any further coverage for hearing aids/devices.

What methods of payment do you take?

We accept many methods of payment including credit card, interact, cheque, and cash.
